National Testing Service in Pakistan (NTS) is an
organization in Pakistan that is responsible for conducting tests at academic
level. Basically this organization is quite similar to ETS that is located in
United States of America. In Pakistan, HEC has given the responsibility to NTS
for taking main academic tests for admissions at undergraduate and at graduate
level. These tests involve NAT, GAT and GRE test. Mainly NAT test held for the
students who wants to get admission in any undergraduate program in NAT
associated universities while GAT test held for admission in Mphil and PhD
programs. NTS conducts these tests for only those universities that are
associated with it. The main purpose of NTS test is to determine qualifications
of students looking for the advanced study.
NTS organization in Pakistan is a Member of the
International Association for Educational Assessment, USA (IAEA). This
organization is also recognized by HEC. The main aim of development of NTS is
to ensure quality of educational standards in Pakistan as well as to offer a
local scale for comparative grading among the top leading institutes joining
examination boards under only one authorized examination body. NTS also takes
test to apply for NTS jobs in
various job sectors of Pakistan. Various jobs sectors in Pakistan now make it
necessary for the applicants to take NTS test while applying for a job at good
position.
